Industry Updates

Plenty has happened this week in beer news

Unfortunately, we can’t go over EVERYTHING in one blog post.

What we can do, however, is  fill you in on some of the bigger, badder, highlights.

Brace yourselves lads and lassies, you’re about to get a heaping plate of knowledge.

Squatters Pubs and Beers, Salt Lake City (UT) has released a limited edition craft brew by the name of Middle Eastern Wit.

All proceeds from the beer sales with be donated to the International Rescue Committee of Utah.

The intent of the brewers was to create a sense of solidarity with refugees, and directly aid the organization with donations.

The craft beer boasts a medley of cardamom, sweet orange peel, and torrified wheat. All ingredients which are indigenous to countries affected by new travel ban policy.

The brew will be available for purchase beginning March 1st at all Squatters and Wasatch Brew Pubs. It will continue to be sold until it is sold out.

Ecliptic Brewing and Gigantic Brewing Portland (OR) have teamed up once again, to bring us their shiniest new addition to the Cosmic Collaboration Series.

This new craft beer delight is called Star Destroyer.

It’s brewed in the tradition of an Imperial Schwarzbier, though the title given by the dynamic duo officially is “Imperial Darkside Lager” – a cheeky nod to the Star Wars dynasty.

This is not the first time that Ecliptic and Gigantic have come together to produce a sensory treat.

The team collaborated many many moons ago, in the distant year of 2013, to create TitWicTic. An American Sour Ale.

River North Brewery, Denver (CO) has added two new options to their collection of canned beers.

These two will be joining a four beer lineup, titled Adventure Fuel.

The first,  Colorado IPA, is a classic American hop-bomb. It features notes of citra, amarillo, zacca, columbus, and cascade hops.

The second, a Pilsner, is a Rocky Mountain lager. It’s brewed low and slow, as any good pilsner should be.

The accompanying two can alternatives are the River NorthWhite, and the Farmhouse.

These brews are exclusively made for Colorado.

So there you have it. Check back in next week to stay up to date with popular industry news.
